Cathy Miller Horiuchi Scholarship
Available to Linguistics undergraduate and graduate students
The recipient will receive $1,225 per semester (fall and spring) for a total of $2,450 which will be applied to the student’s tuition bill first. Any remaining amount will be refunded to the student. The recipient must maintain full-time student status during the year of the award.
This scholarship will be awarded for the 2019‐2020 academic year.
For graduate students, this scholarship may be applied toward the amount needed to participate in the Tuition Benefit Program.
Required materials include:
• University transcripts or Audit from My Degree Dashboard
• A statement of purpose letter that is approximately one page in length and outlines your proposed schedule of courses for the academic year. It also includes other information such as your background in linguistics, how you became interested in linguistics, why you think you deserve the scholarship and your future plans after graduation, to the extent that you now know them. You may include other information that you believe is relevant to the selection committee’s appraisal of your candidacy.
