Dr. Gary D. Ellis Scholarship

The Dr. Gary D. Ellis Endowed Scholarship is awarded to a graduate student in Parks, Recreation and Tourism. The scholarship is intended to help defray the costs involved in collecting data for thesis or dissertation research. Applicants should be planning their thesis or dissertation for the next academic year.
The application should include a one-page abstract of proposed research with line item budget of data collection expenses. Recipients of this scholarship will be reimbursed for expenses related to data collection.

About the award:
The scholarship was established in 1994 by Dr. Gary D. Ellis, Professor Emeritus and previous Chair of Parks, Recreation and Tourism from 1996 to 2005, in support of graduate students working to complete their thesis or dissertation. As a teacher, educator and mentor, Gary influenced for good the lives of many.
