Chicano Scholarship Fund 2023-2024

The Chicano Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to incoming freshmen (Utah high school graduates), current/renewal undergraduate students, and to graduate students at the University of Utah. Eligible students are selected on the basis of family background, life challenges, scholastic effort and involvement in community activities that promote cultural pride and strengthen the Chicana/o/x/ – Latinx community. Financial need may strongly influence the final selection. To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must be:
- Admitted to the University of Utah as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student
- A resident of the state of Utah, or a Dreamer (with or without DACA) who graduated from a Utah high school.
- Eligible to receive federal financial aid

This scholarship grants multiple awards (amounts vary). Scholarships will be disbursed in in two allotments. First half for Fall 2023 and the second half for Spring 2024 and will be applied directly to students’ tuition at the University of Utah. Any remaining funds after tuition will be disbursed to students to cover other school fees and needs, such as books, and other necessary supplies. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need.

    6. List all non-paid volunteer positions you have held in the past three years. Include the nature and length of your involvement. Are volunteer hours a requirement for graduation?
