Rooted in Service Scholarship

Thanks to an anonymous donor who is rooted in the mission of the University of Utah School of Dentistry – to serve underserved communities – five $10,000 scholarships will be awarded with preference to students who have demonstrated their commitment to this mission.
Five $10,000 scholarships awarded.

Applicant must:
1. Have demonstrated the ability to overcome life challenges.
2. Be a dental student.
3. Be in good academic standing.
4. Completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required.

Preference given to applicants who:
1. Are committed to developing a career to serve the underserved.
2. Are committed to improving oral health in rural communities.
3. Demonstrate commitment to advancing the scholarship of Pacific Islanders through service to the community and service to the University of Utah.

  1. Attach a Resume/CV
  2. Between 250 – 500 words, provide a personal essay articulating how your personal and/or professional goals can be supported with this scholarship. Please include any community involvement activities you’ve had the opportunity to be part of and your experience overcoming any life challenge.
  3. (SOD) Please provide the name and email address of an individual who can email a letter of recommendation. This letter must come from teacher/professor or community service representative (someone other than a family member)
