Mr. and Mrs. Jagtar Singh Scholarship

The Mr. and Mrs. Jagtar Singh Endowed Scholarship awards an outstanding graduate or undergraduate student in Parks, Recreation and Tourism with an emphasis in Commercial Recreation, Sustainable Tourism or Hospitality Management. The recipient will excel academically and demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to students who display commitment and dedication to the profession, are hardworking, diligent, show perseverance and a desire to succeed, and have a strong potential to be a future leader or manager in the profession. Undergraduate applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.3. Graduate applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.75.
About the award:
The scholarship was donated by Dr. Amrik Singh in honor of his late parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jagtar Singh. Dr. Singh obtained his Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Leisure from the University of Utah and has been Assistant Professor at the Daniels College of Business School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management at the University of Denver since 2006.
