Dr. Anthony and Myrtle Simone Endowed Scholarship

The Dr. Anthony and Myrtle Simone Endowed Scholarship Fund is given to a graduate student in Parks, Recreation and Tourism, with a preference for students pursuing a doctoral degree. The recipient shall demonstrate financial need and must have had experience in the field of parks, recreation, and leisure through full time work, seasonal or part time work, fieldwork or internships, or volunteer work. The awardee should possess the characteristics of warmth, kindness and effective interpersonal skills so exemplified by Dr. and Mrs. Simone. There is no GPA minimum requirement for this scholarship.
About the award:
The scholarship was established in 1993 by Dr. Anthony Simone and Myrtle Simone. Anthony’s many years as a valued member of the faculty in Health, Physical Education and Recreation gave him first-hand knowledge of the needs of university students.
