Zumbro Family Scholarship

Two $5,000 scholarship awards are available to individuals from a federally-recognized American Indian Tribe, with a preference for students who are enrolled members of or have at least one parent or grandparent who is an enrolled member of one of Utah’s Tribes:


The Ute Tribe (Northern Utes),
The Southern Ute and White Mesa Tribe,
The Confederated Bands of the Goshute,
The Skull Valley Band of Goshute,
The Southern Paiute Tribe out of Cedar City
The Northwest Band of Shoshone Nation
The San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe
The Navajo Nation.


Students selected to receive this scholarship will be an entering freshman, transfer, or continuing undergraduate student at the University of Utah who:

  • Has a minimum 2.5 GPA;
  • Demonstrates a desire or commitment to serving or working with their Tribal community post-graduation;
  • Preference will be given to students who can demonstrate financial need;
  • Will be enrolled in 12 credits or more during the 2024-2025 academic year;
  • Is seeking their first undergraduate degree.
  • Complete a FAFSA for the 2024/25 year by the deadline of this application (Students not eligible for FAFSA please contact Financialaid@utah.edu for more information)
