U Alumni TRIO Scholarship (for Juniors & Seniors) Spring 2024

The U Alumni TRIO Scholarship is a supplemental award to the financial aid already provided by the University. This scholarship is made possible through the generous support of the University of Utah Office of Alumni Relations in partnership with the Federal TRIO Programs Office on campus.

The purpose of this scholarship is to assist undergraduates in their junior and senior year to reduce loans and/or “unmet financial need” as determined by the University’s Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. For the 2023-24 academic year, recipients and awards will be based on TRIO SSS project participation, financial need, credit hours, and availability of funds.

Eligibility Criteria

• Be an active* participant in the TRIO Student Support Services program (trio.utah.edu/) and remain committed to actively participate for this academic year
• Junior or Senior status (60 or more credits completed as of Fall 2023)
• Be enrolled in at least 6 credits hours
• Have “unmet financial need” as determined by the University Office of Student Financial Aid, OR have been offered/awarded federal student loans without which there would be “unmet financial need.”
• Currently in good academic standing (2.0 or higher cumulative GPA) with the University.
  *An active participant is a student who is enrolled at the University, who has been selected to participate in the TRIO Student Support Services Project, and who is or will be regularly receiving advising and other services (instruction, tutoring, etc.) from the TRIO Student Support Services Project.
