Strong Start Scholarship

The Strong Start Scholarship provides multiple summer 2024 awards to first-year students participating in the Strong Start program.

What is Strong Start?

Strong Start is a summer academic and residential program that provides an engaging and transformative experience to a diverse group of first-year students. Our goal is to not only help you acclimate yourself to life at the U, but thrive in your college experience, setting you up for a bright academic career.

Students will enroll in one math or writing course, and Intro to Design Thinking (DES 2615); general education course, fulfilling general education requirements, all while building meaningful academic and social relationships that will last a lifetime at one of the top research universities in the country.

Strong Start takes place during the second summer session from June 17 – August 2.

Strong Start participants are required to register for and attend either of the June New Student Orientation Sessions, on June 18th or 19th.

Strong Start Scholarship Qualifications

• Be a first-year student in the Strong Start program
• Complete a FAFSA for the 2023/24 year.
