Dr. L. Dale Cruse Endowed Scholarship

The Dr. L. Dale Cruse Endowed Scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student studying in any emphasis area in Parks, Recreation and Tourism. Applicants should exhibit the following traits via their application and personal statement: Excellent personality, enthusiasm about the field of Parks, Recreation and Tourism, creativity, energy, excellent oral and written communication, strong organizational skills, professional involvement, and a concern for others. Applicants should have a minimum GPA of 3.2 overall at the University of Utah, 3.5 in Parks, Recreation and Tourism, and demonstrate financial need.
About the award:
The award was endowed in 1992 by Dr. L. Dale Cruse, Professor Emeritus, and Chair of Parks, Recreation and Tourism from 1972 to 1994. The scholarship is given in honor of his late son, Randy Dale Cruse. Over his 22 years at the University of Utah, Dale was an invaluable teacher and administrator.
