Cole Brennan Mika Memorial Endowed Scholarship
This Endowment and associated scholarship are named in memory of Cole Brennan Mika, with the immense collective love of his parents, Dustin Deanne Morgan, Patrick Dennis Mika; his stepmother, Jennie Mika; sister, Tatumn Frances; and brothers, Caden Steele and Logan Walker. Cole grew up in Colorado Springs where he forged a deep love for the outdoors and the mountains. He learned how to ski shortly after learning how to walk, and later self-taught his way to become a highly elite snowboarder. Cole excelled at lacrosse and many other sports, outdoor activities, and adventure pursuits. During his junior year of high school, Cole developed a passion for chemistry under the wing of his Chemistry teacher, Mrs. Janie Mueller. Cole possessed an innate talent for Chemistry and joined the Engineering Program at the University of Utah to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering. He maintained a perfect GPA during both his freshman and sophomore years, earning a spot on the Dean’s List each semester. Although pursuing a rigorous pre-med course track, Cole continued to make time to help other students succeed in addition to his professional and outdoor pursuits. The University welcomes the opportunity to celebrate Cole’s exceptional spirit and positive impact on others through this perpetual Endowment in his name.
