CSAR Larry H. & Gail Miller Enrichment Scholarship

CSAR is proud to offer the Larry H. and Gail Miller Enrichment Scholarship, a program that has existed at the University for over 22 years. We thank the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation for their continued generous support of our students.

The Larry H. & Gail Miller Enrichment Scholarship was established in 2002 to support first, first-generation students*. The Miller Enrichment Scholarship is a full-ride. This means it fully covers tuition and fees, on-campus room and board, a textbook allowance, and in some cases, a mentorship experience and accompanying stipend. The scholarship is automatically renewed for up to 10 semesters, as long as eligibility is maintained. A primary goal of the program is to encourage and support student involvement on campus, including community service, and leadership opportunities.

One of the hallmarks of this scholarship program is the robust cohort component. Students receiving the scholarship are expected to participate in cohort programming throughout the year. This starts with a 2- to 3-day outdoor-based orientation in mid-August, before the semester begins. Students are also expected to meet regularly with their appointed CSAR Student Resource Navigator.

The program also prioritizes candidates who are excited to live on campus. First-year Miller Enrichment scholars are placed in the Gail Miller Tower of Kahlert Village with other first-year students. Housing & dining plans are covered in full each year by the scholarship.

Please note: Do not use AI to respond to essay questions in this application. We want to hear your unique voice and learn about your particular experiences and perspective. Responses generated by AI lack specificity and detail, important nuance, and sound generic. AI-generated responses may disqualify your application. If you are concerned about your writing skills, the University Writing Center is an excellent resource: https://writingcenter.utah.edu/.
