HOUSING & RESIDENTIAL EDUCATION ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP

Please note: Student Leaders who receive Housing/Meal Plan compensation (including RA, CA, RHA) are not eligible for Housing scholarships. It is your responsibility to notify Housing & Residential Education at 801-587-2002 if you become ineligible to receive this scholarship.

The Alumni Housing & Residential Education Scholarship provides three upper-division students (Sophomore, Junior, or Senior) the opportunity to receive financial support towards the cost of on-campus housing within Housing & Residential Education (HRE) facilities for the 2025-2026 Academic Year.

Scholarship applicants must demonstrate an interest in actively participating in the on-campus housing experience, and articulate how this experience will support their continued success at the University of Utah.
The Alumni Housing & Residential Education scholarship provides support to upper-division students as they pursue their degrees at the University of Utah. Institutional data shows that students who reside in on-campus housing graduate at higher rates. Thus, this scholarship aims to support the ongoing success of students, especially those who have not had an on-campus living experience during their time at the University.

Scholarship Amount
This scholarship, sponsored by the University of Utah Alumni Association, is an award for one Academic Year providing up to $10,000 in financial support to be applied toward a student’s housing costs. The scholarship can be applied toward any upper-division HRE housing location/room type based on the room selected by the student at the time of reservation. Family Housing and off-campus housing are not included in this scholarship. Students are responsible for reserving their own room via Housing & Residential Education’s housing sign-up process.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the Alumni Housing & Residential Education Scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:
• Applicant must first complete the General Application at utah.academicworks.com in order to apply for the Housing & Residential Education Alumni Scholarship.
• Applicant must be an upper-division student (Sophomore, Junior, Senior) for the entire 2025-2026 Academic Year.
• Awardee must be enrolled at the University of Utah as a full-time student (at least 12 credit hours per semester).
• Awardee must maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA at The University of Utah.

Students of all backgrounds are invited to apply for the Housing & Residential Education Alumni Scholarship.
