Rising Business Leaders Live & Learn Scholarship
The Rising Business Leaders is a living-learning community in the new Ivory University House. First-year students selected for the Rising Business Leaders will engage in classes, community activities, real-world experiences, and leadership opportunities. Competitive applications will be outstanding students interested in strategic leadership and making an impact within their communities. This prestigious program admits just 20 students annually, providing a unique environment to grow, connect, and prepare for future success as a business leader.
Participants receive $18,000 total; $9,000 for housing at the Ivory University House, $7,000 for tuition, and $2,000 for programming offered through the Goff Strategic Leadership Institute. The tuition portion is nonrefundable/nontransferable. This scholarship can be combined with most scholarships, but cannot be stacked with the University of Utah Presidential scholarship.
The David Eccles School of Business will award this scholarship to outstanding students who meet the following criteria:
- Admission to the University of Utah with a business program plan.
- A first-year student (starting Fall 2025) admitted to the University of Utah.
- Strong academic standing in high school.
- Demonstrate an interest in community engagement and leadership development.
- Preference for students who have demonstrated work experience and/ or demonstrated experience with leadership including during high school, gap year, etc.
Selected students must complete the following requirements:
- Must be a declared business major.
- Must maintain full-time status (minimum 12 credits) for the Fall and Spring Semesters.
- Must be in good academic standing (minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA or higher) at the university.
- Must register and complete the following business coursework each semester:
Fall 2025 – enroll in MGT 1000 (Business Scholars)
Spring 2026 – enroll in MGT 1005 (Business Scholars)
Fall 2025 or Spring 2026 – enroll in MGT 1030 (Responsibilities of Business Leaders) - All semesters – attend engagement activities
Students living in Ivory University House agree to live according to a core value agreement. As a resident of the Ivory University House, you may have additional requirements to fulfill as part of your housing contract. This housing scholarship does not cover the full cost of residency and any additional costs, lease agreements, deposits or fees are the scholarship recipient’s responsibility.
