CSAR Colleen Harker, MD Advancing Women in Medicine
The Colleen Harker, M.D. Advancing Women in Medicine Scholarship was created to support students who are pursuing a career in medicine. Students must have a declared major and also show they are pursuing pre-med requirements in the pursuit of attending their chosen School of Medicine. This scholarship is also open to current University of Utah medical students.
Scholarship monies can be applied—but are not limited—to tuition costs, course supplies, the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT), and admissions application fees. This scholarship is not eligible for students pursuing degrees from the following Colleges: Pharmacy, Dentistry, Nursing, or other areas of the medical field. All eligible candidates are invited to apply.
Eligibility requirements for The Colleen Harker, M.D. Advancing Women in Medicine Scholarship
- Must be a matriculated student at the University of Utah
- Demonstrated pursuit or completion of pre-med prerequisite courses, regardless of major OR currently enrolled at the University of Utah School of Medicine pursuing a MD degree
- Must have completed at least 24 credit hours at the U or another higher ed institution
- Have and maintain a GPA of 3.5 or greater (both individual semester and cumulative overall GPA)
- Be a resident of the state of Utah
- Maintain full-time enrollment (Note: non-credit courses do not count as meeting full-time enrollment and all courses must be at a 1000 level or greater)
- Financial need
