CSAR Resolute Fund
CSAR is so grateful to an anonymous donor for making the $10,000 Resolute Fund Scholarship possible. This scholarship will be awarded to one undergraduate student for the 2025-2026 academic year.
The donor’s first preference is for the scholarship to be awarded to a student from the College of Science studying mathematics with an emphasis on statistics. However, if there are no eligible candidates from that department, the donor’s second preference is a student from College of Engineering’s Data Science program. Per the donor’s request, special consideration be given to students who do not have financial support from their families. Students are required to maintain a 3.0 GPA and to be eligible, students need to have completed a minimum of 24 credits prior to applying.
The Resolute Fund Scholarship was started by anonymous donor who received their Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Speech Communication in 2006 from the University of Utah and is currently working for Google as a Data Science Lead/Manager for Google Cloud Business Platforms. While a student at the University of Utah, they established many friendships in the mathematics labs, and was always impressed with how dedicated and passionate their U professors were for their areas of expertise. As an undergraduate, this person was the fortunate recipient of a scholarship that left an indelible impact, igniting within them the desire to give back to the University of Utah. This individual is committed to championing the cause of women in STEM, embodying a passion for fostering diversity and inclusivity within the field.
