Lingutla Scholarship (Spring 2026)

Srinath Lingutla (Master’s EE ’03) & Family have a long-standing association with the University of Utah. They support two international students in their academic pursuits, encouraging them to gain valuable experience from American culture and contribute to the campus community.

This scholarship supports international students who are currently enrolled at the University of Utah and plan to attend full-time during the semester of the award. The award recognizes strong academic performance, leadership in campus and community activities, and a demonstrated commitment to service. The scholarship is open to all those eligible, and women are especially encouraged to share their unique perspectives and experiences.

The selected applicant will receive a financial award of $ 1,000 for one semester.

Award decisions will be based on:* Academic record (30%), Depth and impact of campus/community engagement (40%), Initiative and leadership potential (20%), Quality of personal statement and impact reflections (10%) as determined by the awarding committee.*

Applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Complete at least two semesters of classes through the University of Utah SLC main campus ahead of the scholarship semester.
• On an F1 or J1 visa and will remain so during the semester of the award.
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Intend to enroll full-time (12 semester credit hours for undergraduate students; 9 semester credit hours or 3 thesis credits for graduate students) during the semester of the award.
• Must be in good academic and disciplinary standing with the University of Utah at the time of awarding the scholarship.

  • Demonstrate active engagement in the campus and/or community through participation in student clubs, service opportunities, campus programs, and/or community programs and events.

Not Eligible:

  • Students who have received the ISSS Scholarship or the Nagoya Scholarship during their academic enrollment
  • Students sponsored by an agency or their home country government
  • Student athletes
  • Students with departmental funding or those participating in reduced tuition programs
  • Students with visas other than F1 or J1
  • Non-matriculated (non-degree seeking) students are not eligible
